Hello Saggy Bits !!

There are just some things that will occur with age no matter what you do, I have decided , and this year in particular. These things are “Saggy Bits”!! And there are more than a few coming at me and fast. Actually no, they creep up slowly, seemingly unnoticed, then bang ! What is all this skin ? And will it go ? So far , I doubt it, without the help of a surgeon, a knife and some sort of suction contraption! So I thought I might name and shame my two recent attributes. Bare in mind it is generally hot here and so hard to avoid on a daily basis.

  • Inside Upper Arms (aka Bingo Wings)
  • Upper Inner Thigh (aka Droopy Draws)

You get the picture. Shorts and singlets are taking on a whole new look ! Oh there are many more bits don’t worry including one little area that came to light (literally) after a one off brazilian 😱😱. As my friend who had done similar at the time , cried out ” Oh my god ! I’ve got a saggy fanny !! ” Give us a break really mother nature really. Anyway, a few weeks ago I went full throttle into every exercise on youtube to fix these two. And the result a month on ? Nothing . Absolutely sweet FA , apart from a few weeks of walking like John Wayne !!

I know the reason. We all do. Declining oestrogen levels in perimenopause and beyond. The skin goes dry, it sags and does so particularly more in fair skin over olive or dark. Yay me !! Married to an Indian man 5 years younger I don’t need a crystal ball on the outcome here ! Although he is going grey before me which is actually no great comfort as you know, men seem to mature into handsome debonaire gents or bloody silver foxes aren’t we led to believe ?? Anyway back to sagging. So today I took a good look in the mirror, jumped up and down a bit and decided to try and love my soft saggy bits and give myself a break. It may take me a while but that’s my ponderings today. Lets hope they stay that way because life is too short and whats a few saggy bits between friends anyway ? So acceptance is key ! Lets see if I ponder the same in a year when the list might be just a tad longer !

Oh those dreaded saggy bits….yup they come but they don’t go!! So yes let’s embrace our saggy bits, naming them is a great start…love bingo wings…that made me laugh out loud! It’s like one day you’re waving and then you notice those bingo wings continue waving long after you’ve stopped! What? Oh well…I’ve earned every one of my saggy bits and am proud of each and every one!!! πŸ˜‰ ❀

That is good news !! I thought I might start this so I can look back on how it all was one day and see if it was as bad as expected. As I mentioned all these symptoms seem to be” having a party” at the moment. Sounds like yours did too ! Thank you too for the follow 😊😊

Lol!!! That’s so funny…I actually have a Beach Babe video just for arms and the flabby flab flab area…if only I did it, it would probably work!!! My foot is almost all better so I see some exercise in my near future. Yay??? πŸ˜‰

I remember looking at my grandmother’s hands when I was a teenager and thinking wow, you can see her veins and her hands are wrinkled. Fast forward to the present when I am 62, and guess what I can see when I look at my hands πŸ™‚

Well I am nearly 50 and the thing I am recently noticing is my neck !! And how I used to be fascinated by the crinkling of others. Now it’s mine 😱. But I do know what you mean about hands. My mums are covered in the liver spots her dad had in his 70’s.

I cracked up when you said you were walking like John Wayne. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
I have the saggy arms and thighs too. Even some crepey skin. How fortunate I am that I have a loving husband who embraces all the effects of aging. I’m the one who gets frustrated by it. I told my friend I’m going to write a book called Where Did My Estrogen Go? 😩
Anyway….this is life. And as you say, it’s too short to fret over saggy bits. 😊

I think we are too hard on ourselves aren’t we ? My husband is the same as yours. This weeks gripe is my neck 😱😱. Life is too short , I keep telling myself 😊😊

Yes, we are too hard on ourselves. Society influences that I think. People are always judging others’ looks and we feel obligated to keep our appearance up. The media flaunts celebrities that look incredible for their age (of course they have money to look that way, and many of their pictures are filtered), and
we compare ourselves to them and others around us. I just want to embrace aging, but admittedly I do feel self conscious when I see parts of my body showing signs of aging. πŸ˜”
Life is too short! We should just try to be happy that we are alive and that we have loving husbands that don’t have unrealistic expectations of us. Now if somebody could just remind me of that every time I see a new wrinkle or age related imperfection. πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

It is so difficult to be upbeat about especially in todays society. I love Instagram but if I am having an off day, all that perfection can be overwhelming. One thing I did hear recently is that in 5 , 10 etc years time we will look back on photos of now wondering what on earth we were on about !! Xxxx

Don’t give a second thought to those perfect Instagram pics. People mostly post what they want others to perceive their lives are like. They have similar lives to everyday people too, and their own struggles.
And it’s probably true about 5 to 10 years from now. I’ll just be happy to still be here 10 years from now!! πŸ˜‰
